I live in NJ... I drive in NYC frequently.. I have had my R350 since 10/17.... I have YET to see another R Class on the road... or even in a parking lot... ( MB Dealer lots excepted- plenty there).
It seems there are now deals to be had on this baby.... hold out and they will soon drop prices or sell below invoice.... then when they sell below invoice, the company line will be something like " We have dropped priced to stimulate the model - and prices will go much higher in the future"....
Hold out if you can.... it seems these will be given away soon.

I live in Washington, DC -- a city where it seems every third car on the road is a Mercedes-Benz. I have yet to see an R as well but I also have to say that, in total, I estimate that I've seen only 6 to 8 M-Class 164s. Now that's bad, real bad.
We do, and after 2.5 weeks, I would say it's absolutely terrific. Having said that , this $48k vehicle actually cost me $64k, and that's what will turn out to be the problem. ...I have seen 5 others here in NJ: two black, 1 silver, and 1 white
I picked up a new R350 a couple of weeks ago. Black/black. Interior Package, Sound package, Panorama, wood/leather wheel. Lots of other goodies that bumped the sticker to $58K.
I'm thrilled with it (I have 3 kids who need car seats, and it fills the need with great style). I've not seen another on the open road yet.
One thing I'm confused about: The owners manual seems to talk about the tire pressure monitoring system being standard on all US cars, but I don't seem to have it. I didn't see it as an option that I could order!
it's there.... when you run through your menu on the steering wheel it will say so.... also, if you have a question (especially in the first year, when teleaid is free), just call teleaid via the 'i' button under the arm rest.
I picked up my new R on Friday night. Coming home from the dealer, I pulled off the exit ramp...right behind another R -- a Pewter R 500. That makes 4 I've seen on the road.
Our dealer had 36 in stock (they're the 5th largest dealer in the country) so we had our choice. We settled on an R350 in Alpine Rain Metallic with the Premium Package, Convenience Package, Heated Front Seats, and 2nd Row Console. The great Winter Event lease deal made it really sweet. The wife loves it and I like driving it a whole lot better than the Honda Odyssey it replaced.
