Yesterday I got the chance to test drive a very similar R to the one I have ordered....
I drove an R350 ( for only 20-25 minutes - too scared to drive it more than that).... airmatic, premium sound..... that's all I really used... so didn't notice if there were other options installed..
As far as the stereo is concerned, if you are an avg citizen, then you will enjoy the system... if you are looking for ultra high end sound.... you will not be impressed... in fact the normal stereo mode, sounds better than the Logic 7.
The airmatic brought a smoothe ride.... yes, I felt like I was driving a car...
The vehicle met my hopes/expectation.... I ordered mine in iridium silver... which I think looks great.... and in person, the silver vehicle looks even better than the pics...
mine arrives mid October... oh, by the way... while I was there, i mentioned that my other car had been totaled.... so I was offered and took them up on offer to buy an E class for the family/friends price....

I hope to test drive one within the next week or so. My salesman called me yesterday to say that they have a demo vehicle and that I should take it for a spin one day soon. (He didn’t say if it were a 350 or 500. I’m guessing a 350.) After the fact, I'll report back here on my drive. Watch this space. [;)]
BTW, what did you think of the engine response – is the 350 enough power?
What build date do you have? Mine is 1st Decade, Priority 1 and the Dealer Estimated Delivery Date (Code BA) is Oct 17. Just like to compare your information with mine.
If the normal stereo mode sounds better than the Logic 7, then it needs some tweaking. My Logic 7 in my E Class far exceeds my expectations.

I didn't take it up any hills... but I felt in general it was plenty of power.... If I had Nevada's cash, I would want the 500... but not because I felt I needed it :)
Yeah... we pick up the E 4 matic for my wife in the a.m... my wife is pretty excited... she had a '97.. then we strayed to BMW for a few years...
My Build date is 9/23 for the R350... Iridium Silver...Loaded... no dvd though... I want to add my own... and a backup camera, which can be done aftermarket..... I'll let you know how it goes....
As far as the stereo goes.... the things I like from my audio system can not come from Logic 7... I am an audio nut...so no car stereo factory installed sounds good to me... too bad for me :(
The E will keep myy busy until the R arrives....
There is an Iridium Silver r 350 sitting outside a dealership near my house... it is stunning!
By the way... I test drove the Infiniti M today before I bought the E....
I don't get it.... the Infiniti did not impress me at all... nothing.... yes, lots of value/features... but I would have had buyers remorse the day I signed the papers...
