Saw a R500 at the dealer yesterday...

Looks like it is doing heavy duty as a demo vehicle. It was locked, so I didn't get in, but from what I could see, it looks huge inside.

The car looked a lot smaller than I expected after reading all the reviews. It is quite low and sleek, which I presume adds to the illusion of compactness.

The inside looked very inviting. 2nd and 3rd row legroom looks great. Cargo space with the rear seats in place looks very small - not even enough for a decent trip to the grocery shop, IMHO. But then, I didn't see the tailgate open.

The car was pewter with the beige interior (macadamia?). It looked very nice. I suspect that this vehicle will get some attention from people who don't normally look at MB, just as the CLS is getting attention.

Thanks for the post. Good to see demos are reaching the dealers.

Just read a demo drive review on MBWorld and driver was critical of interior headroom and quality of interior...leather and "cheap" plastic." Dissappointing to say the least. He was comparing it to his S Class interior quality. Though the car was overpriced. Liked the way it drove and exerior looks. So I am off to my dealer as soon as he gets a demo...
