no speed sensitive power steering??

do I need a pair of new glasses, or does the "R" release guide says the speed sensitive power steering is not standard on the V6??

Yes, that is correct unless you order one of the packages...someone with an ML who has ordered one can tell you which option it is. It is standard on the R500.

The Airmatic option on the R350 includes the assisted steering feature.

RE: no speed sensitive power steering??

Thank you for the reply. I did a rough calculation. Even though the R starts below 50k, with the options that I want, the price shoots up to 60k+. Add up the tax, it's likely to be 65k+. It feels a bit weird to pay for that much for an US made vehicle.

RE: no speed sensitive power steering??

I don't know...the engineering is still MB and the plant has been totally updated to the latest technology. I am sure what production line techniques are used in Alabama to build the cars are the same as in Germany. From intial owner reports on the quality of the new ML, they are all reporting they are impressed with the fit and finish and quality of materials. So I guess it doesn't make any difference to me where it is made.

My R500 package will total out at almost $73,000 (before discount) plus tax and registration. The most expensive MB I have purchased but I think I will enjoy it and be satisfied with the quality and performance.
