No Keyless Go option on the R350

I just learned that my $66,000 R350 does not have a option for Keyless Go. The R500 does. I am really ticked and am about ready to cancel the allocation and order. I intend to call MBUSA tomorrow morning and get someone to explain to me why this is as it is. What luxury $66,000 car does not have some kind of keyless go system?

I will keep you up to date....

Must be that VW disease like they have in Australia where you only get options based on the engine size.

Rest assured that it would be better to buy that KG option from factory as it is very hard to get aftermarket if at all.

I talked with MBUSA today and they will have a Product Specialist call me next week to explain my concern with the lack of a keyless go option on the R350.

RE: No Keyless Go option on the R350

I have an M class that has been nothing but trouble, and I am pondering whether to buy another MB product. I really love the R class style and concept, but I'm really struggling with whether to risk another MB after the debacle of my M class. So, I'm looking for ways to differentiate the other luxury brands like Lexus, Acura,Infiniti and Cadillac from MB. Unfortunately, issues like JD Power survey placement and Consumer Reports trashings tend to weigh against a decision to buy another MB. Then, you hear things like: for $66K, this car does not even have the latest technology like keyless go, and it really starts to feel like I'm setting myself up again for an expensive disappointment.

I hate to go for a bland looking Lexus, but when you compare MB pros and cons like resale, reliability, and technological "bang" for the buck, I fear too often that it comes up non-Mercedes.

This is exactly the same for the new ML. Keyless go is only available in the 500 and cannot be ordered on the 350. A rather underhanded way to sell people up to the 500.

hi, in Germany "keyless go" will be option for all r-class-cars!
I don't understand, that you don#t have this option although the car ist built in the US!!

The USA market has become unusual because they now have options deleted which are still available in Australia. I personally dont understand what the criteria are supposed to be.

RE: No Keyless Go option on the R350

After talking with my dealer (who talked with the MB Sales Rep) it does not look like the KG will be an option on the R350 (at least this model year.) So in order to accomodate me he has provided me a very attractive discount deal on the R500 (with Keyless Go).

I would like to hold my position but I have been tracking this car since concept in 2002 and there are no other competitors to even consider for this type vehicle at this time. So I will enjoy my new V8 R 500 in Sep/Oct sometime. If this is a maneuver to get buyers to upgrade to the R500 (I really don't think it is) then MB "got me." I really think this change relates to cost or some other motive. If they wanted to get people to upgrade the model based on features, there are other more desirable features they could have limited to the R500.
