I was hoping to get factory delivery but then I found out they were shut down until early 2006. I think MB has a "hit" on it's hands once the word gets around on what exactly this car is all about.
With your location you will have a short trip once the factory tours resume...
I guess the parts shared are about the same as the parts shared between the ML55 and the Jeep Cherokee...none.
Before you make comments with no basis in fact, why not do some reading of early reviews of the R Class. Almost every reviewer comments on the LACK of any commonality between the Pacifica and the R Class.
Do youself a favor and go to my nevadajack website and read the 5 reviews I have posted. Then since you own three quality automobiles including 2 MB, rethink your post and see if your "rebadged" statement holds water. I think not.[:D]
The ML W163 was ground breaking when it came out. Thats fact. Nothing else looked like it. Does it share parts with Chryslers? Yes. Its not even made in Germany cept for the motor. The matter I am talking about is the Pacifica, I mean R-Class body design.
Now the R class, look at it even from afar, its a reworked Pacifica plain and simple.
Im not arguing there are not some technological advances. Body is same as R-Class, I mean Pacifica
I like how the Pacifica (opps i meant R class model) for the auto shows and press releases is always the big pimp my ride version with the cool wheels and tv screens.
I am also sorry to not jump on your bandwagon and praise the R-Class. Its exciting and good for a brand like Mercedes Benz to expand its line up and offer old designed product, and recycle it with new technology.
Fact...the initial planning for the Pacifica and the R Class STARTED BEFORE the merger of Chrysler and MB was completed.
You can call it a Pacifica clone if you want but the facts speak for themselves...they are totally different automobiles with totally different parts and specs. Your post clearly shows you are confused in more ways than one.
