Introduction at long last!

Hello all.

For about the last 12 months I have been "previewing" as Bill F nicely put it in a previous post, I have not posted before as I am a novice on the computer so any help will be gratefully received especially on how to attach photos as I believe they have to be re sized?

I bought a new B180 cdi (my first new car) in sep 2008 I am very pleased with it got an exceptional discount on a car which had been pre ordered then not sold.

I have had a problem in the first 2 weeks where a patch of paint on the roof about 3 inch dia blistered, the whole roof was resprayed by the dealer.

The fuel consumption on this car has been exceptionally good helped by living in the "sticks" where there is not much traffic.

I am very impressed with operation of the the tyre pressure sensor since owning the car I have had nails in the tyres on two occasions, on checking the pressures when the warning showed on the dash the pressurures were found to be down by just 5 pounds.

Regards John

Hi John

Good first post and we do hope you stay around. Lots of Brits are posting and they have lots to say about Diesels. Sorry about the paint keep an eye on it.

What is it about your roads??? I've had about 3 tire repairs in the last 10 years but it looks like the Island is full of road debris.

Posting a photo is fairly easy.

1. Click on "add a reply" to give more options.
2. Click on the paper clip (attachment) at the top middle.
3. A new window pops up and you click browse, find the photo on your computer and
4. Upload.

Make sure the photo is no bigger than 800 wide.

Go to Test - Benzworld.org - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum to practise.

Welcome to the forum John. As they say " better late than never". This forum is great source of knowledge and info sharing. Yes B is an amazing car that provides a fantastic ride. Most of B 200 owners ( gasoline/petrol version) average in the mid to high 7's in overall drive. I for one and i am sure most canucks in this forum wish we got the cdi version here. Post some pictures ( bill's instructions should point u in the right direction)
cheers

Hi John, and welcome to our merry group!!

Good points from Bill,....but I reply by hitting the quick or quote .

I then have to go to go advanced if I want to add a photo(or a smiley).
I then scroll down to attachments and find the photo on the computer and double click on that file.
Then the upload....and send.

Good luck!!..with the paint etc.

Derek

Welcome to the group!

If Benz ever does a clean BlueTec version of the B 180/200 CDI engine, we might even see it over here. It would be nice to have the option. My car's lifetime average is 39 MPG but it'd be over 50 with a CDI.

Cheers

Thanks all for the friendly and helpful welcome,

Mike I was averaging 54.3 MPG but recently when I started using the trailer more it has now dropped to 53.1 this being over the last 3000 miles. The best I have got on a run down to our static on the mid Wales coast has been 67.6 MPG, on this run which is a twisty mountain route I normally exceed 60 MPG. I have on 3 occasions exceeded 600 miles on a tankful when the reserve light just came on.
