Thanks for the replies,
Anyone else having similar sympthoms?
I just went to another mechanic and we did a test drive, he told me that, because all these are minor issues it's not worth spending money and trying to fix them up as it would be really hard to find the exact cause. Of couse, this is not a solution... waiting to get worse.. I have already driven over 4000km with the car and I didn't notice a change in its behavour..

My car shakes more than it should at idle. I think it's misfire. I have to go in for my next major service in a couple of weeks, which I believe includes spark plugs. I'm hoping that it will be taken care-of then. Will update here if that makes a dif.
It's just a bit of a rough engine because it's oversquare, nothing to worry about IMO unless you are getting check engine lights and true misfires. It's not your granny's Cadillac! I guess the diesel is like this 2L gas engine, only moreso.
I wouldn't say these vibrations are normal at all, I've been driving much cheaper cars and you never get this feeling.. and if it would have been because of the engine being oversquare it would be a permanent issue on all B-class and A-class and this doesn't happen, so it must be a real issue.
Besides the fact that's very annoying I'm also concerned that these vibrations could lead to much bigger issues - they create resonance which can cause screws to un-screw for example.
This vibration issue was mentioned in the very early posts. Either some cars seem more prone than others, or is it just that some people are more annoyed / affected by it. My 2 Bs have not IMO been bad in this respect but I did have a jerkiness on my first B at certain revs & M/B rectified the problem by diong something to the autobox
Solution for the shaking/vibrations on the 640 engines.
There has been several updates on the belt tensioner on these engines, you should get your dealer to change the belt tensioner to the latest one which has the partnr 6402003370. There is also a known issue with worn rubber dampers in the AC compressor pulley, we have changed belt tensioners and compressor pulleys on almost every a/b class cdi's in my district. The compressor pulley repair kit has the partnr. 000 234 23 12. The mechanic should feel if the compressor pulley has to be changed by taking of the v-belt and turn pulley fast forward and backwards and see if there is much play in it. good luck!
Thanks Norwegian_Benz, I appreciate your feedback, I'm going to check it out with another mechanic next week and will tell him this..
I'll keep you all updated.
I recently tested my winter tires for a couple of days and I can say the shaking/jerkiness at low revs was bigger..
I've always felt my B200T has had more vibration at idle than it should have (very smooth for a 4 cylinder at anything other than idle in my opinion).
After 30,000 km, I'm beginning to agree with some other member's posts that some cars are either affected a little more than others, or (as I suspect in my case) some people just notice the vibration/have higher expectations than others. The condition in mine has not become any worse, but certainly no better.
I have noticed vibrations are higher when I'm in D so I'm starting to think it's a transmission issue, I can live with the vibrations felt on P/N.
Anyway, tomorrow I'm scheduled at another service, they have good references so I'm curious to see what they say.
