Denrak,
Congratulations and hope you will have great pleasure with your new car.

Vise,
Welcome to the forum. In Vancouver, nearly new - 200T are asking $ 36K ( this is clearly negotiable - downward - say $ 34K ).
For examples see 'Tourers': MBVancouver

Thanks BeeClass, much appreciated. Given that the deal I was offered is not bad ($1500 off, freight/PDI waived) but I think I can do better.

Vise,

I got a 2007 B200 with CVT. This car was a loaner, it had 7000 km on it, and I got 5000$ off it .... pretty good if you ask me

Daniel

Nice, good to know. The prices on the 2007 models were higher though right?

mmm, good question ...

I also bought mine in October, the dealer tries to get rid of their "old" model much more aggressively then.

Any chance you could share your Car Cost Canada report?
I'll give some indirect numbers (polytically correctness "oblige" ): compared to the MSRP, the markup on a base 200T is 9,9%. Its 16,2% on CVT and paint, 0% () on premium package. Total cost/MSRP: 9%. There is a possibility that these markups are area dependant.

A "fair dealer markup" is from 3% to 6%. Depending if I take the words of the salesman or a more realistic figure for the "given" tyres, the final markup in my case is between 5 and 6%.

Hope it will be useful for others.

As for the demos, the dealer in my area doesn't seem to let them go as long the are new cars in inventory.

The 1500$ cashback is only for a cash purchase: if you lease or finance a B class, you may have in place the 2,5% rate.

Thanks Denrac, much appreciated. I was offered a 4% discount off MSRP on a lease for a new/demo 2008 B200 Turbo; I'm ok with that discount off a new model but think I could do better on a demo (of which they apparently have many!).
