Last week-end was fabulous and I finally could take the time to give a good clean up + wax my B !
Unfortunately it's also the moment to see all the damage the last winter made to the paint. The worst part being that I live in an urban area and people don't seams to know how to park their car and always bump onto yours. The result is front bumper scratches, and worst dent made by tow bar
I then decide to hide those unfortunate by installing an European style front plate. This would also act as a barrier / protection for those stupid drivers that don't care about their old rusty ride !
Obviously no plastic European style mount came with our Canadian cars ... any suggestion where I can find this online ?
Daniel As it is an European fitment I can only think you would have to order it from a M/B dealership in Europe unless your local M/B partsman is prepared to order it for you.
Might be able to get the part # if your locl man cannot

Daniel,
Another option to protect your bumpers from scratches might be to have a clear protector applied. It will unfortunately not protect the bumpers from hard dings (ie: from a tow bar, etc) but it should at least protect your paint from being scratched up.
I believe I've seen some Ebay ads selling clear bumper protectors.
In QC, a Euro plate with something like B 200 or B 200 T on it would be cool. The fake plates (pretending to be REAL European plates) are just lame. Every fifth BMW in BC has one of those, and BC requires two plates!
Are you planning to mount the Canadian license plate onto the European plate holder? How? Won't it look weird? Are you allow to do that? There are some on Ebay. It doesn't say if it will fit the B.
I too was concerned with Montreal's parking abuses. If they had had 2 towing holes on the front of the B instead of 1, I was planning to protect the pointed front bumper with a stainless steel brush bar.
So far my front hasn't been hit enough to leave a mark. I always leave as much space as possible and park far from everyone when I can. I drop people off and then go and park.
For Daniel (and many others) that's probably not an option.
Can you imagine the damage that's inflicted on every plastic bumper by trailer hitches that stop only when contact is made?
I never park when I see a trailer hitch in front of me.(In Quebec, they're not that careful)
And finally, I really like the fact that we don't have a front plate and the clean lines of the front are seen.
I have no mount upfront. The plate is bend in middle and screwed on. The screws are covered with colored thingies.
I saw some germans with special bended license plate holders.
