forgive me guys, that i'm starting another thread about aux cable here.
that i phoned many places like, vision, futureshop, best buy, beam riders, and they all turned me down for installing the aux cable in my car. just wondering , has anyone in the Vancouver area got their aux cable installed by any shops other than the dealer? please leave contact.
You have the harness form Merc ? Any GOOD after market place (forget about futurescrap and the like) will install it. It is actually quite easy to do when you have the right tools
Is it the cable that you use to connect to an external mp3 player? If yes, I am interested in getting it also. Anyone in Vancouver interested in a group install LMK.

yup..that's the cable. i just got it from the MB dealer , 44 bucks after tax. but don't know where to find a good shop that will install it. cause the only places i know are futureshop , best buy ect. an installer from A and B sound is willing to try installing it, but i was afraid he'll damage my dash , cause he has never done it before.

I tried to do it myself, made 2 hooks and a wedge similar to the MB part, but just couldn't unlatch the catches and pull the top air vent out. so i'm willing to pay the extra 50 bucks if i could find a shop that will do it, that at least they're familiar with what they're doing..

May I ask what, exactly, this cable is? Presumably a 2-conductor cable with male plugs at either end. If so, $44 seems a bit steep and 5 to 10 would be more in line. consequently I'm guessing there must be more to this MB cable. Appreciate any insights.....

It's a little bit more than this actually, you don't have the choice but to buy the original harness since the connector in the back of the radio (where the cable connects) is a proprietary plug .... It costed me 50$ to do it. Good luck in your search !
How much do you think MB will charge for such install? It shouldn't take more than an hour if they have the right tool? When will the connector head be located?
If DIY, do you think it can be installed to look OEM?

well.. it takes about an hour to do it. the dealer's charging about 200. i am just being a little cheap here that i thought if i could find a place that had done it before, then i would save some $, cause everyone knows the dealer's over priced.
ok jtcb, i just got the aux cable installed, by Audiolines at burnaby, they did a pretty good job. only took them like 20 mins to install the aux to the glove box. it cost me 78 bucks after tax. more expensive than a regular shop, but it worked, so i am ok with the extra 20 bucks i had to spend.
