Easy vario seats - rattling..

Hi all,

There is this intermittent (not to mention annoying!) rattling noise coming from under the rear seats. I have the easy vario seats installed.

I took it down to the dealer - but they were unable to experience/replicate the rattling.

My inclination is that it has something to do with the 'pull handles' under the seats - but when I take a look I don't see anything loose. It is definately coming from inside of the car.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance..

Cheers
Eric

Welcome to the forum Eric. Not sure if many forum members have the easy vario seats but I am sure someone will reply if they have. Enjoy your B

Sorry I don't have the vario seats.
Why not stuff rags or the like into all spaces under that offending seat or space where the rattle is coming from.
If it's gone then Voila you've found it.
Remove the rags until the rattle returns and find out what's loose.
If it doesn't go away then maybe it's something loose in a door panel.

Good luck! Derek

The Vario seats are not an option in Canada. But, maybe this is similar to the missing rubber grommet in the rear folding seats - if you have metal against metal, then you will have squeaks.

Robert,
We have a lot of new B owners in our forum.
Should we have all these new members check for their missing grommet.

Raise the long rear seat and check the bottom for 2 small rubber grommets that guide the seat into it's proper place when returning to it's lowered position.

Does anyone have a missing rubber grommet towards the middle of the B?
Derek

Thanks for the replies and the warm welcome..

I'll take a look and see if there are some missing rubber grommets.. I did try stuffing this sponge sheet where the springs are - does help 'dampen' the rattling.

As for the easy vario seats - I would have to admit they are not as great as we envisaged them. We upgraded from a 03 Toyota RAV4 and the rear seat removal system for that car was great - totally flat space.. whereas with the easy vario there are two sets of 'forks' (which the rear seats fold down onto) that stick out from the floor of the car - which sort of defeats the purpose of removing the seats in the first place!.. Does anyone think the same?

Thanks again.
