A while back, there was talk about chrome indicator bulbs being available from MB. I asked the parts people at the dealer and they said MB didn't have them. Was I mistaken that they were available from MB or is there a part # for them someone has? Thanks,
I bought them in a twin pack at our local Halfords (car accessory shop).
Especially nice in the front, it removes those ridiculous omelets in the light units.
So I received the bulbs from MB, Keith you were right, they are in pairs and they are Phillips bulbs. In your hand they still have a bit of an orange look to them. ( I'd say about 50%), but look like they would give a better look in the housing and seem of good quality. The only thing is they are for the rear signal lights only!! I was hoping that all the signal lights took the same bulb as per the online manual (I will check my manual to confirm), for some reason the fronts are a 2357 bulb (dual filament) and the rears are a 73?? bulbs (single filament), all are very easy to replace . I'll have to look for a nice set for the front like Dennis', I saw a pair at a local shop but they were really chromed, and I assumed those were the cheap ones. Anyways, they look good in the rear, with just a little orange showing at a certain angle.
Must be either a regional / country change or they have now put in a different type of bulb perhaps they are now implementing the bulb failure function and the secon filament takes over from the first if it blows ????
The ones in your rear units are definitely the ones in my front units.
The 2357 (double filament) has one filament that's always on and the second filament that flashes when using the turning signal.(I think)
The 73 has one filament and functions as a running light or a turning (flashing) light.(one or the other)
I also tried to find the matching #'s in my spare collection of bulbs but only came close to those #'s. From the close #'s I've drawn those conclusions.
Different countries and different functioning lights.
I hope I didn't muddy the waters.

So I checked the manual, and it says PY 21W for the front and rear signal bulbs which is the 7507 bulb (single filament), same as the online manual . Sorry I was wrong about the 73?? bulb. My car definitely has 2357 bulb up front so the manual is wrong. Even the socket is different, on the 2357 bulb the locking prongs are directly across from each other, whereas on the 7507 they are offset from each other. Oh well, you might be right Keith, it might be for the bulb failure thing.
