Derek,

I suggest you do one ... you are already half way there by looking at your avatar !!

And that will keep you busy until the snow as all melt around your place.

Daniel

No Derek glad to see your comments on this

I think Haynes must have changed in recent years then. I must admit I have not bought one (or really had reason to) for the past 10 years. They always used to be good and I don't remember ever seeing "a go to dealer message".

Could it be the way cars are built now or the Safety / Emission regulations

Thanks for bringing me 'up to speed' with this I shall obviously not be recommending them with such zeal if this is their current modus operandi

So that's another avenue exhausted for us then.

Thanks for raising your concerns about them Derek

Paper, plastic or engraved on a stone tablet there should be at least a basic manual available with all the B's circling the globe.

Yes Daniel,
But our pets have arrived even with all this snow, and absolutely no food out there for them. The B will have to wait.

Please search ebay!!
The info you need is right there. Item # 120241567886 should be exactly what you need. Search " Mercedes WIS/TIS Repair or Service Manuals.
That item gives all model up to July 2006. So the 06 B is in there. Any changes in 07 and 08...well you just have to wing-it. Let us know if it worked.

Email received back from Haynes they have no plans for a manual in the next 12 -18 months so no chance of a paper manual there either. Still as you say Derek it would probably be 'refer to dealer' anyway so it's no great loss.

Yes Keith, I contacted them a while back and they're in no hurry. No great loss.
Together, we'll try to solve most of our problems.
