HID Installed

I just got the HID kit installed for my B yesterday. for anyone who wanted to do it long ago, i've got some pictures for you to compare the original with the HID.

mine kit is 6000K, takes about 20 seconds for the bulbs to get fully powered up. $350 included everything, 1 yr warranty on bulb and ballast. the guy did a good job installing it, that he hide the ballast inside the light bulb cover, so when the hood is opened, you will not find any new wires that indicates the HID mod.

Photo 'on the road ' looks impressive, seems to be quite an improvement there.

Any chance of photos being a max of 800 x 800 so we can see all of the picture without having to scroll side to side (thanks)

Congrats ecmiyake!! They look awesome. That's nice about the install, I wish I had my ballasts hidden. Do you know what kit they used? (brand) How do you find the colour of the light produced? I know some people think 6000k can be a little blue, I found it hard to choose between 4300k and 6000k.

yeah,i'm glad it worked.
i didn't choose the 6000K myself, the shop i used only carry bulbs of 6000K or 8000K.. it will cost more if i get them to order a different colour. i've found 6000K it is a little purple, will wait till the rain and see how they works on wet roads..

Ecmiyake!! Wow and wow!! What a difference....could the high beams be done the same way?
The deer are a real problem where we live and even a 'night vision setup' would be a good option for us....... I'm just dreaming out loud......
Cheers, Derek

yeah, the lights are so much brighter than the stock's. i parked beside my co-worker's mazda 3, and the color of the stock lights on the 3 is so yellow, and dim compare to mine.. you consider upgrading your lights too?
for your high beam question... i think some hard core people do upgrade their high beam and fog lights to HID too, they use bi xenon bulbs so they could be able to do the high beam flash.

We have that beautiful carpet of white light with the Audi but would really consider the high beams as a priority on the B. Thanks

What lights does you Audi have Derek ?

I have not noticed a problem with my main beams, In fact I thought they were quite good. But I have always thought the dipped beams were abysmal.

Maybe this is because my last B had factory fitted Bi-Xenons.

The Audi has the xenon but our regular drives need more distance. Maybe huge 'honkin' rally driving lights.
The deers( and sometimes moose) are always there. The Audi crunched a huge raccoon and it did damage..... and we love our pets. Some are very gentle.
One night it's going to be us. Night vision would really be considered.
