US Spec MB B-Class Caught

Hey all,

I was driving home today and I happened to see a US-spec (or at least Canadian spec due to the front amber reflectors) parked near my house.

I wonder if this means that it's coming to the US market soon.

Where are you in the US? What do you mean by Canadian spec? Looks like an overseas import by the side mirror turn signal. I want that folded side mirror..

I'm in the Chicago suburbs. Well I assumed that both Canadian and US models of automobiles must have a front mounted amber reflector. Whether it is an import from Canada is hard to determine, but usually they won't put the reflector on for a European model.

Other MB models here have the side mirror turn signals... does this one seem different? I'm confused.

I think it is definitely an overseas import, not from Canada. The shape/size of the side mirror is different, as well as the turn signal light shape is different. Canadians version doesn't have the folded side mirror option.

Oh ok. That makes sense. I guess it isn't a Canadian model.

I wonder if this is what they plan to bring specifically as a US-spec model, since those reflectors are there. I saw many B class cars while I was in Italy in the fall, and I know they didn't have those reflectors. Furthermore, I am pretty sure this reflector had a bulb behind it as there was a dark spot in the middle. I know on the rest of the MB models here in the states, those reflectors are dual purpose and this orange bulb is required be on when the headlights are on.

I've been told that there are some MB people here in the States driving the B. These cars were brought in from Europe. I'm still trying to meet up with the guy who shows up at the Laguna Niguel dealership.

It also appears to be not a 08 model. Just notice the license plate. Is that a regular Chicago plate?

It's a special plate for manufacturer vehicles. I had a friend who worked for GM and his company car had the same type of plate.
