FSS reset

So today I wanted to check out what the next B service entailed and scrolled through the workshop code to make sure I have the required parts for my next service. It’s just a few months away but I need to get my parts from Canada and while taking a trip up there is more fun then ordering and having them shipped down that won’t be happening soon so it’s time to place my order.

I scrolled through the menu and wrote down this info: Additional: 3, 4, 6 & 8. Items: 1, 3, 4 & 6 and then……..I inadvertently reset it…

No more “Next B service in X miles” it’s “next C service is in XX miles”. The owners manual says that if the maintenance service indicator is inadvertently reset, have an authorized MB dealer correct it. Can I do this myself? Does any one have instructions?

Thanks

If no one has the answer why not wait until you get the service done. They should reset it themselves anyway ( Might pay you to tell them what have done when you take it in for the service). It seems quite a natural thing to do (ordering parts yourself) considering they don't sell or support the B in the States.

I haven't seen anything that helps us go back if we inadvertently reset the B.
It would be nice to know that procedure.
But will the dealer ever tell us how to correct a mis-hit?
Some one who's in tight with a dealer might be able to get that info.... Any takers???

I talked to a couple of service people in Canada and US about the FSS re-set and they both tell me don’t worry about it; just keep track of my mileage. I’m guessing they wondered why I was poking around it in the first place.

I did get the FSS service sheet for the car that I can take to my dealer when I go for my next B service. Most of what is on the sheet is in the service manual (replace combination and dust filters and change out the brake fluid, check out just about everything)...it was very nice of them to do that for me

So does that mean you have a StarDiagnostic tool? Or did you just get that through the menus?

Really? How do you do that? We are talking about the FSS not just the service booklet right? Not that I should mess around with it, but what else is in there?

Turn on the ignition and get to the 'service in xx km'. Hold the re-set button for a few seconds and 'service menu' will pop up. Use +/- or arrow up/down to get through the list.

Just DON'T go to 'confirmation'...this is how I re-set it.
