I do not know if the Canadian Tire rust product is effective.
However, I do know that your new Mercedes comes with an extensive rust warranty and the same cars have a 30 year rust warranty in Europe.
Also, you should consider that if you use another product ( other than MB ) and if something ever did rust, then MB could justifiably deny your claim by passing the blame on to your other product and its application.
Personally, I would not try to 'improve' on mB rust protection and if I just could not resist the temptation, I would only use Krown rust prevention.
My $ 00.02 worth says leave well enough alone - as the oft quoted Russian Admiral said, " Perfect, is the enemy of good enough.".
I 've lived in Europe all my life and I have seen and seen soooooo many MB cars almost older than me. I can hardly recall any of them with any rust. Rust protection was not something on top of our mind. And yes, all winter, roads are white, full of salt. Cars too.
I am soooo confident in MB's rust protection; I probably wouldn't bother myself with aditional.
By the way, I am amazed how protected our B's are.Just take a look under!
Just pressure wash under, preferebly with warm wather and that's it.
I hope I'm right.
The B-Class body in white is entirely galvanized as are the removable panels, so they should be pretty good to begin with. I have a 20 year old galvanized Peugeot 405 and it is really good, with many hard BC Interior snow belt winters under its wheels.
6-7 years is nothing; unless you're keeping the car 15-20 years, I wouldn't give rust resistance the slightest thought.
The electronic gizmo's don't work well on cars. The APA has stated this.
In Canada, only one method will truly work for the long haul.
Dip you car in thick oil and grease. Having said that, yes my method will work, but there are definite drawbacks.
There is a good application of cavity wax on the under body of the B. Adding more to all the other untouched locations would help but it's a time consuming job.
I know!!
The anti-rust spray companies help keep the impending corrosion at bay with their regular applications of oily undercoatings.
It's all in the application. They will always miss areas.
The product must always remain liquid for the best protection.
Your MB rust warranty is voided when you get an after-market product applied. Not an easy decision.
Good Luck, Derek
If you want proof of that statement or more information re- corrosion topics check out Derek's previous posts on Hood / Bonnet rust problems.
Got it !! I mean the old hood design !!
I have not experience any water trap though ... but Derek told me he had a big drill, I might pop in to his place soon, if I can find him under the snow !!

Snow.... What snow??... That's really very beautiful white sand.
Come over any time Daniel.
Just go past the ice hotel and we're the second igloo on the left.
Don't forget your shovel!!
