I live in Toronto and I usually get between 450 km - 500 km with a combination of city, rush hour and highway driving. I drove the car down to New York City last fall and the mileage goes way up with continuous highway driving. i think I was hitting about 800 km on a tank. I've got the standard (non-turbo) version of the B-Class and I've been filling it with Unleaded Premium fuel since I purchased it.
I can't wait to have a road trip in my B 200. I should imagine it'd cut my typical fuel consumption by maybe as much as one litre per 100, if I wasn't driving too fast.
I hope to get to CA USA this summer so maybe I'll have a chance to check it out then.
We're going to Europe in two weeks, but no B for us there; we're borrowing a friend's Peugeot 406 for a 4000 km drive.
Thank you all for the feedback.. I just made the deal.. My wife gets her Birthday present B Class Wednesday. Cant wait to see her face..

Yeah we are thinking of shoting down in the B 200 to see my old uncle in Santa Cruz, quick trip, in July. I've never been south of central Oregon on this continent (unless Virginia Beach is further south).
