auxiliary input in glove box

I just bought a 07 B200( canadian version), non turbo, and on the spec sheet, it saids there's supposely an ausiliary input in the glove box, but i've searched the glove box inside out, and couldn't find any audio jacks.. can someone please tell me where the jack is ??

plus, i've noticed there's a hole with a turnable cap in the glove box, is that for air conditioning the glove box??

thanks a lot

Hello, on my 2008 B200 (Europe) the aux input is a jack input situated just above the turnable cap you describe. Once you connect a mp3 player through this jack, you have to press for 2-3 seconds the CDC button on your Audio 5/Audio20/whatever you have.

I think the turnable cap is indeed for the glovebox ventilation.

Hi ecmiyake, welcome to the forum

Turt has given you the information you need regarding the aux in.

The idea of the A/C inlet to the glovebox is that it can keep drinks & sandwiches etc cool from the aircon system. It is a bit of a gimmick really some MPVs have proper drink coolers.

Where are you located ???

Picture of the Aux in socket (above and to the right of the turnable air inlet ) is shown in photo below.

07 don't come with the aux-in ... 08 does. Do a search on this forum, I had mine install for quite cheap.

It's worth it IMHO

It was on my June / July built (UK) model so probably it was one of the first to have it fitted.

No mine has not got a changer, I just have a holder for CDs in the glovebox.

I think that some people refer to June/ July as being the next years model.

HI it is very easy to install I did on my B200Turbo 06 cable cost around 30 Cad and you need two more tools to remove the radio from the dash. Do you have the CDC button on the radio? Do a search on this forum I posted pictures and instruction.
One cable to plug in radio and install in the glove box.
If you need more info ask me.

Good Luck.

hey, thanks for your help guys. I went and asked a service guy from the benz dealer, and he saids some B comes with the aux jack installed, and some don't. and i need to spend 40 CDN to purchase a cable and the dealer will install it for me. don't know how much they will charge me thou... but 40 bucks is still better than 600 bucks for the ipod intergration kit...

Hey ecmiyake,

I did the installation after market. Total came to about 90 $ CND ... 40$ for the harness and 50$ for installation.

Easy job ... just don't have the tools to do it myself.
