German car seats are just plain uncomfortable compared to French car seats, but like a racing bicycle saddle, one does becomes used to them. The centre rear seat was evidently designed by a guy who was having a particularly bad day

Personally, I prefer the firm Mercedes seats and ride for longer distances. The center seat is simply the result of ever expanding rear ends - you cannot fit three fat assed adults comfortably into the rear seat of any car. Therefore, you have two reasonably comfortable seats and a center seat which is OK for use by an adult for short times / distances. The centre seat is the safest in the car and is also very useful for a child car seat.

However, the thrust of my post - two or three back, was that the B offers a great balance of seemingly incompatible characteristics of interior space/overall size, performance/fuel economy, luxury/value, and comfort/practicality in a well made car of modern design/ with outstanding safety features.

You should have had a ride in the Peugeot 504 that my Dad had in the 1970s, now there were SUPERB seats, good for 16 hour stints. The ride in that car was beyond comparison too. However, modern French cars are more Germanic in their ride - and seats - I regret to say!

I chose the B 200 for the same reason, a good blend of virtues in a family car. It is improvable? Yes. Is there anything better for sale in Canada? No.

Should be getting mine today...... i was let down by MB yesterday. They had trouble fitting the tow bar electrics. They say they were sent an electrical set for a left hand drive car and us being right handers here in the uk, well enough said!

By the way while i talk about towing does anyone know if you need an extra fan for an auto box on the B-Class? i have been told NOT by the dealership, however there was some talk about a fan being in the tow bar electrical set during one of my telephone calls with the dealer so now i am a little confused.

So hopefully by the end of today i will have a B 180cdi SE auto in comet grey sitting in the garage at home.... Wishful thinking? No it should be fine... Should it not?????

Thanks for the helpful comments made by all on this thread.
