I like the 3 bar grille also, but didn't it cost extra just to get the chrome package or whatever they call it back then. I think it was up to the 06 model. It is not until the 07 base model that chrome package is included in the premium package.
The chrome parts I put on mine are from the accessories catalogue (but bought on ebay) and not part of a normal package. The spraying of the lower grill & fog surrounds is obviously not an M/B option. The chrome fog surrounds were the last part to be fitted. Pictures show them before final fitting they are just pushed in place here. The small round chrome rings round the fogs were on the car when bought.

I think it's the M/B parts man putting on ebay stock that that either hasn't shifted for some time or customers order parts & don't like or don't collect.
A few UK dealers seem to be doing this with their surplus stock. It means that you are able to buy the parts at a realistic price.
