Hi Dave
What size tyres are you running on the car? have to replace the ones on the wifes car soon the standard one are double the price 18 inch so thinking of changing from 40 series to 35 profile plenty of room under the arch and just half the price.

Hi,

tyres are 225/35 R18.
But it's a bit odd that 225/40 are more expensive than 35.
Over here 225/40 are the cheapest tyres in 18"...

Thanks Dave
When I went to order 215/40/R18 the guy said straight away oh they are for a Mercedes and i think that means double the price in Ireland or UK wanted 120 euros each.
My mate suggested 225/35/18 can buy 4 of them for 240 stg just over the border so will do that now I think.
Thanks again for your help.

I had the same problem with that size for the AMG wheels. 225/40R18 fit on there and there are a lot more tires to choose from in that size. I ended going with the 215/40R18 Yokohamas I bought from TireRack.com the other choice was Pirelli PZero Neros, I went with the least expensive.
