The last picture looks like something from "First Encounters", I would be worried that it might draw junkies to the car like a moth to a flame.
I worry that I might be the target of alien abduction and moth attack now.
Am I the only one here that like the look of overseas license plate? Look at desaputra and Mike's front pic and A.N.'s back above. The length of the plate matches the length of the grille and hatch door chrome piece.
That is the standard size plate for UK (& possibly for Europe perhaps Dennis can confirm this) the space on the boot is probably made for this size of plate.

Correct. All european plates are the same (standard) size. The color varies but they all have a blue area on the left with the country code. So my plates are yellow with black letters and NL in the blue space.
And the size is what you see from desaputra. The boot is made to fit a european type plate.
Thanks Dennis, In the UK we are not legally obliged to have the blue country part of the number plate but if we don't then we must display GB plates when travelling abroad.
My B is the first new car for some years that I have not had the Euro plate as I thought that it would look better without the blue part (as my avitar shows)
I miss the good old days when Dutch and French plates (not to mention Polish and Portuguese) were black with white (NL) or silver (F) letters, and cars had the country codes in the big ovals. Now the French are even allowed to have white rear plates with black letters! Oh, the horror......
And there were the yellow headlights. I loved those.
Desaputra There are getting to be many more options for individualising you B these days. depending on what part of the world you live in, Europe & S E Asia seem to be the leaders in (non M/B) styling accessories although we are starting to get a few parts in the UK but our Canadian cousins seem to be the worst off in this area seeming to be limited to winter wheels & Flashing Blue disco type interiors (only joking jtcb )
I don't know what part of Ireland you are from but I gather, from your post, that you pay far more than we do for your cars (& we pay enough) how about spares & accessories do you also pay premium prices for those and what does your diesel / petrol cost.
You're right, I bought it from UK MB dealer in Jan08 with 3 months old and mileage just 58miles that time (as this is Showroom Display car), this actually brand new car with 2nd hand value (got fair price, about £4k off from brand new price). In Ireland you have to spend around €44k to get with this extra options for brand new... I can't find any in 2nd hand market with this spec...
Then, I have to pay registration TAX 25% of market price here to register import car in Ireland... With shipping, travel and others extra costs, I still saved nearly half of the total price if I buy locally. As my local MB Dealers said, they only sold 17 B170/B180CDi/B200 last year, compare 66 for B150.....
