A service

Hi there,

I'll have my A service done soon, the car has 15 000km and it's due in March. How much did it cost you guys to have it done ?

There's a couple of things I want the dealership to look at :

Car stall when braking in an emergency situation
Windshield washer spray not functioning properly on the left side
Brake problem (as stated all over this forum)
Key that does not always recognize the fact it has been pull out of it's socket ...

For those of you who had it perform, your input is more than welcome (what was done, problem solved)

For those of us you did not had it performed yet it's gonna be a valuable info to have before heading to the "stealership"

Tx

Daniel

Daniel you seem to have a few new problems for this forum as related to removing your key.
Please post what was done on your first service and the cost and we'll discuss my costly "partial B Service" as compared to your's.
Don't forget to make sure they check the brakes and "add extra lube on the sliders" at that time.
Good luck on the $$$ Derek

Why would your car need a service at 15,000? My car has 10,000 already (3 months!) and the service indicator says I have another 9900 to go.

I have to change the oil this weekend....

All B's in the future will be on a 15,000 km countdown or time countdown in Canada.
Maybe the dealer already reset his to the new norms.

I'm only going by memory but I believe my A service cost $275. I'll have to check my service records and get back to you as for what it covered.

Hi Derek,

Are you saying that the key problem was talked on this forum earlier ?

Mike, the car is on the road since March 07, they suggest service after 20k or 1 year ...

I'll keep you guys updated !

Thanks

Daniel

Hey Daniel,

I don't remember what my first service was but I actually think I was a B service, and it was $200.
I too sometimes have problems with the left washer sprayer. I thought maybe something had plugged the "highest" opening (third from the left), it wasn't spraying straight occationally. The problem has fixed itself and maybe once in a while it sprays too high but if I recycle the switch it will spray straight. Who knows?
The key thing I beblieve is new to the forum.

Anthony

Hi All,

Just took my appointment with the dealership and the car is due for service next week. They told me it's 295$.

Talk to him about my problems, here are his answer :

Stalling : There's a recall for B200 CVT, transmission program needs to be updated. He told me that not all B200 were affected, mine might be in the batch
Sprayer : Will be checked / cleaned / replaced if needed
Brake : Will be checked / cleaned / replaced if needed. Part of the usual "A Service"
Key : Will update the flash memory, computer related.

Once this is all done I'll report. I know this seams like a lot of problems, but they are minor (except the stalling problem). I still like the ride and they seams easily fixable ....

Doesn't how the car is driven come into the equation somewhere ?

The only key issue I know of is cracking across the buttons (the bumps with the icons on)

What do you mean Keith !! We don't have speed camera yet over here

I know I don't drive as slow as our fellow member (aka Mike and Derek) but I don't think this is a issue here

Jokes apart I'm not an aggressive driver, but have to hit the brakes hard a couple of time due to erratic drivers getting out of a back alley / cutting in front of you. I live in the city !
