CD Holder removal info required.

Has anyone had any reason to remove the CD holder in the glove compartment ?

If so how is it fixed in & what is involved in removal ??

The reason I ask is that I do not use the CD player very often & that CD holder takes up a lot of space in the glovebox. Plus I keep accidentally opening the CD trays when I go to find something in the glovebox.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Picture below is of the offending item which may be of interest to those that (due to regional variations) may not have one.

Hi Keith

Looked at your picture and the cd changer you have is much different than ours. We have a 6 disk changer which is the only option. Yours appears to be 4 disk??? Agree that the glove box is small, maybe Mercedes is using truth in advertising and only giving a a box that only a pair of gloves will fit in.
Check the audio forum I think you will find something there to help.

Maybe someone would be interested in buying yours so if you get it out make a posting.

Bill

What is that white round thing on the right?

I think the under seat drawer will come in handy in your case.

The white round thing is the ventilation opening in the glovebox.

You could try to remove all the cd's and see if it's screwed against the top of the compartment.

And a pair of latex gloves at that Bill

jtcb I did look at that option but was a little disappointed with the size of the seat boxes & I did not think them good value for the storage they offered. This lack of storage space is the real letdown of the B class when compared to the "opposition" (eg Scenic Zaphira etc) it probably has more legroom though.

I seem to remember that on my old B there was just a hole and not the white cover I think you can twist it round to turn off the air, but with it on it is usefull in keeping drinks etc cool.

I don't see the hole in the glove box. Is it only there if you have cd changer?

My Canadian spec car has no CD changer and the ventilation hole with thewhite cover (hole at top = airflow, hole at side = no airflow).

Do the Canadian B 200s have radios with RDS (display radio station name, song info etc)capability? I haven't been able to figure that out. My smart has it and I sure miss it in the B.
