Steering wheel trim issue

Hi All,

Just noticed that the "aluminum" trim on my steering wheel is peeling on one corner. I guess this "aluminum" is some sort of foil effect? It is actually quite sharp where it is coming free.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm not all that concerned at the moment. I'll likely have them fix it at the first official servicing which should be some point between Christmas and Spring...

To me, it looks like they'd have to replace the entire wheel in order to remedy the issue - unless individual components can be ordered. I'm rather hoping the individual pieces are available, because I've often wondered what would happen if one of the function buttons were to go bad and whether the steering wheel is a "servicable" item or just a throw away? For that reason, I try not to use the buttons much (including the volume) out of fear of them breaking!

I had my whole steering wheel changed when a wire came off somewhere inside and the horn acted up.
No wheels in stock so they took one off a new B!!
I was getting relays picking up and wrong messages in the info screen, not a fun experience!!

Aluminuim trim * on steering wheel is part of the sports pack & standard equipment on the B200 Turbo (UK Versions)
I think the cars for the Canadian market have different option packs & levels of equipment to the European cars

* The spokes on the steering wheel at the 4 oclock & 8 oclock positions have an aluminuim trim on them, apart from that the steering wheel appears to be the same regarding size & buttons etc but the rim is contoured slightly differently & has partially perforated leather
