For me, it's the 3rd winter with the B.
I've managed to slide off into the ditch only once so far(my fault). The traction control worked well and pulled me out without assistance.(ie: towing)
My B is equipped with Pilot Alpin2 that still look like new. I think that most of the new snow tires now on the market are engineered more for icy conditions than deep snow.

I got some Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2s as well, V-rated for speed, picked them up Saturday after I got the car. It looks as though they'll be be good around here, where we don't get a lot of snow. Handling should be similar to the stock all season HR tires, that's why I got the VRs.

I'll let you know what I think of them in action, when I have a chance!

The Michelins are fat better then the Continentals that are factory-fitted on my B
After nearly 35.000 km's (26.000 on the Conti's and 9.000 on the Michelins) the conti's on the front are almost gone. The michelin's are quiter and have better wear.

I guys,

My dealership put Pirelli sottozero 210 on mine. No snow yet in Montreal, but I can say that these tire are extremely quiet. I'll report once we get the first snow !

I've had good luck with Goodyear Ultra Grip winter tires on a 1999 Passat. I drove many years with this model both winter and summer, avoiding the semi-annual tire change ordeal. I always bought 4 new tires after the second winter of use. Yes they are quiet in dry conditions, I think tire technology has advanced a lot in the last decade.

Now for my new B200, I’m wondering if anyone else has tried the Goodyears and is anyone rolling year-long on snows?

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the input. I decided to go with some Continental Winter Viking 2s (studded). They got a pretty good review, the Nokian RSi's, were my next choice but I wanted something studded. I'll let you know how they are. Here is the review. (in Swedish)
