In reading the B 200/Turbo CDN owners manual, it is immediately apparent that the CDN cruise and the Tempomat/Speedtronic fitted to the EU versions are completely different.
The Canadian cars have no LIM function (speed limiter) and apparently pushing on the end of the cruise stalk does nothing, whereas in Europe that is how you switch between the speed limiter and cruise.
So I have a question for Canadian B owners: when cruise is engaged, are there any idiot lights/LEDs that come on in the car, to let you know it's on?
I had OEM smart cruise control activated by a TAN code fitted to my smart fortwo cdi by an independent repair shop near Vancouver in August, and it is the EU version - with LIM speed limiter plus cruise control. I actually quite like the limiter function and I think I may miss it in the B. Oh well.....
