A quick up-date!!
My B has been parked for the last 5 weeks and my new rear discs are shiny and rust free.
We've had a ton of rain and fog for weeks and this would usually mean that the rears would rust up in the days of old.
So it's safe to say that the new rears are made from better materials than the rears of 2005.
We've established that the old ones we're probably made of re-cycled Canadian(
Dow ) beer caps in China.
That means that the new ones are possible made from Guinness or Smithwicks caps.(still from China)
Good news all around.
Derek

Funny, mine were replaced in early 2008 and rust just like the ones from October 2007, when the car was made

Maybe a heavy footed Sasquatch has been using the car in your absence.
