My statistic comes down to the same .5L/100 km optimistic on the computer vs real measurement. The computer shows 10.3L since last reset (about 6000km) and my statistic comes down to 10.8 - 10.9 ...
I find the car to be quite good on highway, city is what I call reasonable, obviously if our gas was as good as the european we would not have to paid 6 cents more a liter for a 91 octane .... but that's an other story
To do spritmonitor.de, you will need actual fuel receipts with litre amounts and actual km figures, tank by tank. Joining there is easy. They're what provide the fuel economy ratings in my signature.
The display you show is probably over-estimating fuel savings by 7%, so it's probably really 7.6. 65 km/h average! Wow, you do a lot of driving on the open road. Mine is down around 50-52.
I consider myself creeping and crawling all of the time.
Late last night our highway was snow-covered and rutted all the way back from Montebello.
Really dangerous conditions and about 150 km return trip.
No fun on our Quebec roads even at the best of times.

Derek I need house prices right away.
Looked at your photos and my jaw fell open, 65 KM average WOW. Some days I don't even peak at that speed, unless I floor the car between lights.
Have you calculated actual L per 100 KM using actual fuel?? My long term shows only > 2% difference which is very accurate.
I would be very wary about posting your consumption on a German site. The Mercedes police might come at night and re tune your car.
The one feature I have come to hate on the car is the Average speed readout, it makes me feel old and slow. But our government has just announced a 14 Billion $$$ plan for more transit,,I'm hoping it will get people off the road and give me more space. I wish they had a smiley of a car with flames coming from the back!!
Bill,
I haven't had my B long enough for a long term check of the computers accuracy; but, your fuel consumption is very reasonable for mainly urban driving.
I drove to Abbotsford airport today, 175 Km return, and the trip consumption was 8.4 liters which was very good considering the trip was in a driving rain storm and we had four people and some luggage. I tend to believe the trip computer is probably very accurate because MB does not want litigation and a black eye ( think Mazda and HP claims.).
Hi BeeClass
8.4 to Abbotsford in yesterday's storm is great, but we should never refer to bad weather happening in B.C. We have a well deserved reputation as a garden of eden AKA Hollywood North and we don't want to scare away tourists with pockets full of cash.
What kind of average speed are you getting??
Bill
Enjoying the Pineapple express from Hawaii. (The proper term for yesterdays weather)
Bill, sell your property, and with your profits, you could buy up our whole lake.
Life is too short for me to be calculating and collecting all my fuel bills.
I'll run with the on-board computer thanks.
It's a touch more accurate than my 59 bug..... and does anybody out there know why??????? This is an easy one!!
Bill, with the way you can find great graphics, you could probably add flames to any smiley.

Had a friend whose dad had a 60 Bug, I remember reaching under the glove box to turn the handle when the car started to chug. Horrors when miles from anywhere and we found his dad had already used the reserve tank
No gas heater option, just lots of scrapers to keep the windows clear in -40 temperature.
OH!!! by the way I think the answer to your question is "Drum Roll" no gas gauge. Only car without one I think.
Well naturally your both right !! No gas gauge, but what a great car to learn how to drive. You'd bury the gas pedal and all that would happen is that the sound would change a bit but you really wouldn't go much faster.
That 1/2 gal. reserve was a life saver, whenever it did it's chug,chug,chug...time to toe over the little arm and find a gas station!!
