Why does the non-turbo Canadian B200 require premium fuel? Technical reasons?
Is there a technical reason for the non-turbo B200 requiring premium fuel? I thought maybe it was because of high compression ratio, but the ratio is the same as in other vehicles that take regular? I'm a layman when it comes to engines and I was just curious about this.
Thanks!

MB designs their engines to run on higher octane fuel.
Use of lower rated fuel may cause injector problems among other nasty things.
Those buggers WILL void your warranty if you don't use the proper fuel.
Hope this clears things up for ya a bit.
Cheers!
my sales rep told me that yes it is recommended to use premium but since I am just leasing the car I should just use the mid-grade one......well....I have filled up only 3 times so far and I still feel that I should use premium....for now anyways...
