Any idea when will the 2009s start production / shipping? I think I read somewhere that the 2009s start production in June. They haven't released Canadian pricing yet (for 2009) so I'm anxiously awaiting that... we have a 2009 B200T on order and I hoping we might see it in August

I think that most manufacturers will begin making the next model year in the last week of July, but remains to be confirmed.

The following VINs are a pre-series of CDN specification 2009 models that were shipped out a little while ago; three arrived in Halifax on May 15th, the rest will arrive later this month:

Interestingly (or not, if you are not a VIN nerd like me), the serial numbers (last 6 digits) of these 2009 models are almost 4000 cars EARLIER than the latest, still-in production, 2008 model, which is on its way to Canada just now.

I am not sure if these early 2009 cars will be followed very soon with the introduction of 2009s in regular production, supplanting the 2008s. Time will tell, though I would not normally have expected 2009 model production before July.

Are you able to tell via the VIN what features, colors cars will have? I know whith my G and SL that can be tracked, but that's history rather than looking into the future.

The VINs only tell you:

WDD - Mercedes-Benz (Germany)

F - model series W245

H - Body type - hatchback

33 or 34 - 136 HP or 193 HP engine respectively

X - safety restraint systems (front, front side and windowbags)

1 - Checksum

9 - 2009 model

J - Rastatt factory

123456 - serial number.

So the colour is not contained in there....if it ever was.
