Installing drawer underneath front seats

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to install this option.

There are four separate parts, 2 side rails, 1 plastic drawer and 4 screws. It all comes separate with no instruction how the rails need to be mounted. I felt the screw location underneath the seat but the drawer does not slide over the drawer sides neatly. As the drawer is made up of plastic material and the rails are metal, don't want to force the flimpy parts off the drawer.

Went to the service department asking for help, they have no idea how to install it either. However they quote me a 1.5 hours labor to install on each side. They said that it involves removing the seat for mounting. That is total bs.

If anyone can help, much appreciated. Thanks.

Philip

gsp1 might be able to help you. I am interested in installing one myself. I think it provides a better place to hide things than the glove box as it doesn't have a lock.

Great, gsp1 if you see this thread please offer help. Thanks.

Just for the information, the entire four parts come to about CDN$120 in total. Should have bargained for it with the purchase. The cost will properly be around $20-30 tops.

Are you in Canada? Did you order it from the dealer? I am surprised there is no manual.

I am thinking of getting at least one of these too, after our car arrives in a couple of months. The drawer parts cost under 50 Euros in Europe. If the seats have to be removed to install them, that's a bit discouraging......

Still, I would love to have instructions.

As an aside, the Renault Scénic we had in France for 3+ weeks during 2005 had a drawer under each of the 4 outboard seats plus 4 hatches in the floor to store stuff in....so the B seems a bit lacking in cubby storage by comparison (especially so now that the RH cubby behind the seatback has been eliminated).

Hi there, as i can read on the instructions although it says to remove the seats i think it could be installed without removing them according to the pictures... But only someone who has the parts on his hands can judge it and tell us...

Is there any OEM parts available for Europe? Because i think that from MB should cost far more 50 euros!...

What do all those model number and code mean? Which code refer to B200 base model with manual sit ajust? At the top it mentions "except CODE (494) USA version". US doesn't have the B. I guess it refers to Canada as well? What does that mean though? It doesn't mention removing the driver's side seat, only passenger side. Is that mean it is necessary if the drawer is to be installed under the passenger, but not the driver side?

Yes I totally agree the Scenic beats the B class hands down on cubby holes & storage space (and other things as well) still it was the first custom designed MPV.

One point about the B class underseat storage f you havn't seen them have a look at them first before buying. I ordered some but refused to buy them because I thought they were very small. I would say they are dear for what they are. (typical Mercedes)
