Annoying "ticking" sound from the seatbelt.

I have a bl@@dy annoying "ticking" sound coming from the seat belt bracket just adjacent to my ear. It is a intermittent noise that can only be stopped by pulling on the seatbelt or pulling on the bracket.

It is happening on both front seatbelts so is also annoying to the passengers as well.

I'm within two minds to take my mother-in-law for a long drive around the uk. This would not solve the noise, but it would make me feel better. LOL.

Seriously though has anyone else experienced any thing like this and knows of a good cure, or do I need to book the car in to a dealer.

Regards

Ross.
