after leaving the car over night at the dealer..was like -20C that night, they still cannot replicate the noise I have been hearing , completely wasted everyone's time...at least I that is what I felt like after I got my car back.....it's almost like I was lying about the situation and all I wanted was a free car wash....
so , after the last visit, the cracking noise somehow die down a lot, until recent 2-3 days, all of a sudden it got worse, it got louder and a bit more frequent....anyone else still have this problem like mine ?
On my B, thanks God, there is no noise on my steering system even after two months of replacing the whole unit.
Maybe you should insist for replacing yours also (if you think that its the same problem), because as other people said here if someone needs to replace this out of guarantee maybe its better to sell the car!!!
I had the same problem... and let me tell you it was big ars pain to convince the service shop of the obvious problem. well it turns out it was in deed a brake disc problem. Apparently, it has something to do with the pistons inside the caliper. I apparently replaced the rotors as well as the brake pad and the noise has totally disappeared. I was advised that this was an common issue when the pads are about to wear.
