3) In the cargo compartment on the left side there is a round thing that you can press and it pops out. It can be used as a hook to hold plastic grocery bags. If you tilt the floor of the rear compartment upwards (to get at the spare tire), you can pop out the grocery hook and it can be used to hold the floor up in the raised position. There is even a little plastic piece on the bottom edge of the floor that is designed to cup this hook.

Jordan.
That " round thing " is actually there to hold the boot floor in the raised position
so you don't have to hold the floor up with 2 hands whilst filling the bottom of the boot or removing the spare wheel.

Have just come back from holiday (new car now has over 1000 miles on clock) so will update soon on recent posts.

I find the 2 heights on the boot floor very usefull. When I am putting in the wifes wheelchair or scooter I use the top position to make loding easier, but for holidays when loading the car up to the gills I drop it down to the lower position (after having filled the spare wheel space to capacity) and you get a few inches more boot depth. (It may not sound a lot but you can get a large suitcase in standing on its end).
I think this feature is one of the most useful on the B.

I would also like to know how to turn on the "Remaining Fuel" feature on the center dash display. Anyone figure this out?

Jordan.

Just clarifying on the post about holding down the recirculate button. If you have any windows open and you suddenly find yourself going through a tunnel or through a cloud of bad car exhaust, you can hold down the "Recirculate" button and all four windows will close. Once you emerge from the stench, you can hold down the Recirculate button again and all four windows will re-open and go back to the positions they were in when you first hit the Recirculate button. Very cool. I just tried this tonight and it worked.

It is shown under Range. It is an estimate in Km the amount of gas can go (remaining).

Tunnel Mode (as above) is dormant on some cars.

The feature that jkalpin refers to is slightly different to this. The cluster can also be programmed to show not only the Km's remaining but also the amount of fuel left in the tank in litres. I had Miroj do the programming on my vehicle to activate this feature.

No, the pop-out-thingy is a shopping bag holder. At least, according to the manual. You can pop it out ans use it to hang small plastic bags on it.
But I really like your purpose a lot better...Now I have a small wooden stick to keep the floor up when I am rumbling around in the spare tyre compartment.

The ThermoTronic has an Air Quality Sensor that will switch to circulate automatically. But only if the outside temp is above 7 degrees celcius (I think 7..).
The driver doesn't notice this, except offcourse that there are no nasty fumes in the car. Nice feauture, really works, my previous Audi didn't have it and driving behind a truck in slow traffic was no pleasure, now with the MB I don't smell a thing.

If there is a momentary blast of dust the stepper motor wont shut the vent fast enough. THe other thing I suppose is that if you are passing a wet area and the is a lot of water spray then the pollution sensor wont do much. The other application is getting a phone call and being able to close all the openings at the same time.
