When you sucked up the oil how hot did you have your engine?? The directions for the Pela warn about high heat but the hotter oil is the quicker it should flow and empty. Also what weight of oil did you use??
Bill, I drove about 1 Km and warmed up the engine to just over the 40 degree mark and I used 5W30 Mobile 1.
After my drive this morning, I have the impression the B likes Mobile 1. The engine revved quicker and effortlessly and the engine seemed to run smoother. It is subjective, but it seems there is less friction with this oil. If so, this may improve fuel economy a bit too.

Now that your car is used to the champagne of oil will it ever be happy with the beer and pretzels from the dealer. Mobil 1 must be getting very popular. I was at Walmart picking up something for my daughter and priced Mobil 1, I was surprised to see just about all the shelf space empty and all other oils well stocked.
They say that the oil is good for 20,000 kms, but cars sure run better after a fresh drink. (as do the drivers after parking the car)
When I change my oil I'll do the same as you ie a short 1 k drive. Down to Tim Horton's to get a coffee to enjoy as the oil empties.
Now if Pela will come up with a way to suck all the brake dust from the front wheels.
Bill,
I will tell the dealer to only put in Mobile 1, because that is the oil I want. I will gladly pay the difference in price, for the increased performance and protection.

PS. I cut the bottom off an old 1 litre oil bottle and used it as a funnel - it was a perfect fit.
