I currently have a 2007 B200 Turbo, but due to an extensive number of problems with the car (car has been to dealer 7 times in less than 10,000 km), the dealer is trying to put together a deal to buy back and replace with a 2008 (with more money from me for the privilage - not sure about this...). Does anyone have any info on what changes there may be. Dealer indicated that the MSRP for the '08 will be lower than '07 and may have higher level of content - and it's this content that I'm interested in.
I know that between '06 and '07, they deleted the 7th and 8th airbags, but included as standard interior and exterior lighting pagkages. I'm curious what they may add as standard for '08. I'd love the proper auto climate control that you can get in Europe!
I wonder if the 2008 model is the one that the spy photos were of that were given in a link in an earlier post.
Any info from members would be appreciated
as I also have had a problematic B class but cannot find a suitable replacement from other manufacturers. ie an MPV with auto & diesel (an ideal combination) but I would not wish to keep mine once its out of warranty due to problems I have had so far.
7 and 8 airbag are side airbags for passengers on the rear and thats a little bit stupid that they cancelled this option (if its true); they should rather add airbag for drivers knees
It all started off before I even hit 1k. I got a warning light - "fuel cap open" - which in turn triggers the check engine light. This light has come on 6 times I believe. Also, the car had a stalling issue due to a bad crank position sensor (I think).
Basically, the dealer has used my car as a test mule to figure out what is wrong with the car. They've replaced check valves, re-programmed computer, replaced fuel pump, charcoal canister, and the last attempt, the fuel tank itself. It takes about 1k for the problem to come up again, and I haven't reached that point yet to see if the car is now fixed.
The dealer has been pleasant to deal with, and I certainly understand that even on new cars, with all the electronics, you are likely to find a few issues, but 7 attempts to fix (hopefull) ONE problem is a bit much. The car has been worked on more than I'd have expected in the first 100,000 km.
The offer to buy back and replace with a new car is not exactly charitable either. Basically, I don't think they want to give me any real deal. I suggested they give me the extended 6 year warranty to compensate. My reasoning was that if the car is good, it would cost them nothing and give me peace of mind (and satisfy me as a customer). Not surprisingly, they didn't seem to go for it.
I'm dealing directly with the sales manager now, but I'm not sure if I can really go further at this point.
Looks a bit like the Citroen in the transforming TV ad
Well it looks like the front end has been completely re-skinned and the doors opening upwards is weird and nonfunctional. The side windows only have small pieces that open and the back end has strange bulges that we can't really see. All this for 2009, I don't think so. I think they still have a little bit of work to do on this prototype. It looks like our future "B" class on steroids! Derek
