I'm toying with the idea of having my B200cdi "remapped". This will take the bhp up to 175. I'm told it will improve performance, but will also make it a bit more economical.
Does anyone have any experience of a diesel remap.
Sounds good but what about your warranty. I think if you had problems M/B would use this mod as an excuse to invalidate your warranty. And given the price of work & parts on these vehicles it could end up costing a fortune.

Thats a very valid point. I was hoping that as the remap was done through the diagnostic port it would not show up. Whereas if I had it rechipped this would show where they break in to the ECU.
I'll have another chat to the guy's at Angel Tuning.

Thanks for you reply.
Ross.
Ah them again. I think on their website it says 'should' not affect guarantee not that it will not. On other threads, remaps have seriously affected consumption. Some have harmed engines and cause all sorts of problems. You absolutely must notify your insurance company. 'Any mods' it normally says. If not you may have accident and they can declare policy null and void. Why not ask Mercedes customer sevice if it will affect the guarantee? Better to be safe.
On some threads been stated as illegal to interfere with the software: intellectual property rights etc.

Hmm, maybe not such a good idea after all. I was going to inform my insurance company and they would have put it up one group. I was a "spontaneous" sort of idea that I think I'll park up for now. Thanks for your input.
