Hi guys,

one point. You can disable if I remember well in manual the daylight running lights.
It will add one point to you do everytime you start you car.

You can than turn on lights switch in first position and pull out to turn on front fog lamps.
This way you can save your precious HID for longer lasting. When you sell the car or need to show daytime running lights you can just turn the feature back.
I talk about that with MB dealer and if I remember well manual does describe it as well.

Try to look it up.

Or there must possible change at dealer to program the car to use turn on parking lights with fog lights everytime you start the car.

Really? Have you done this? I tought that feature was only enabled in countries that don't require DRLs.

Probably not, but I've seen audi's in Edmonton driving around with only their parking lights (side markers) and fogs on. I don't know if that qualifies as DRLs.

My Audi uses the fogs as the DRL's and that's the factory setup; so that would be a nice option for daytime driving.

Well, the HID install was a success! I will upload photos later tonight when it gets dark. The lights look great so far in the day. I got the 4300K lights so at full power they are white with a slight hint of purple but at the cutoff they are have a yellowish tint. Two great installs back to back, I would have been on a roll if the old guy driving a 90's Lumina hadn't have hit my car while backing out of a parking stall. Luckily, there wasn't any damage or scratch , trust me I looked really hard. He was parked next to me and backed out with his wheels cranked all the way in one direction, so I think his tire bump my tire or door panel, but there's not even a small dent. I think he would have just driven away, but I was just walking up to the car as it happened. Man, was I pissed, but I guess I was lucky. Anyways... all's well that ends well.

Yes, if I can use the fogs as DRL, I would consider it. It would also make the fogs useful in heavy fog or snow.

Yeah they're on all the time, I didn't ask about switching the DRL's to the fogs. The lights are really good at night and to look at them they don't look any brighter than the halogen (so I think no glare) but they do cast a shadow in front of other cars as you pass, so I think that means they're brighter.
I went to take some pics last night but our camera's batteries were dead, so I'll do it tonight and post the before pics I took back in Jan. I'll also show where they mounted the ballasts, I'm not too happy of the location (on the strut tower) but they may have done that for a specific reason. To maybe keep them away of the ABS,ECU,EPS, etc... . (And any other acronyms hehe) Anyways so far I'm pleased.

Anthony

PS I will try and post the details of the install and setup the shop used.
