'1 malfunction'

hi guys,

my b-class gave me this 'happy' information after turning the engine off
i'm wondering if this message is connected with faulty bulb because these two things happened during my trip
on the other hand i thought that 'change the bulb' message appears when the bulb stopped working
any suggestions?

best regards
paul

Go in the menu to the "1 malfunction" and press either the "arrow up" button, or "arrow down" button, and the display will show the exact malfunction that occured.

I had 2 malfunctions up when I fitted the mobility seat for my wife, one being a SRS error the other being the seat belt sensor both because I had to disconnect the main cabling to the seat. I was able to plug in the seat belt sensor & get rid of that error but the SRS one had to be disabled by Mercedes. I seem to remember, in that instance, that I had an SRS fault message as well.
Have heard from other M/B owners (not with B classes) that they have had similar bogus error messages to yours and that M/B have rebooted the software ( as you would do if you had a fault program in your home PC). which I gather sorted out the problem. Microprocessors can be tempremental beasts.

maybe this malfunction is related to rear wiper because this message still appears after changing bulbs in headlamps (not xenon unfortunately)

btw. don't change bulbs by yourself - real horror, it took 45 minutes

No it doesn't. I would say that the wipers switcher needs to be replaced. I had to replace it, as I was posting on the "1st defect" thread, and also another user wrote there about the same replacement of the stick switcher of wipers. So I guess that is your problem too.

i've just got the letter from MB and they want to replace the whole lever because of faulty wires (or something)
