Hi all, anyone bothered to check how many miles per gallon thier's are doing.

just worked mine out, after the first tankful, and it worked out at about 29mpg.

perhaps the tank has a hole in it

I have the 2000 CDI Auto with sports pack.
On holiday with 4 up and a rear bike rack with a wheel chair on I got about 38 to the gallon.
On holiday with just the 2 of us but reasonably heavily laden with wheelchair & other mobility bits & pieces we got about 43 MPG.
On a 75 mile run using M25 (with the inevitable jam) I got 47 MPG
I am rather heavy with the right foot so I imagine if one were more fuel conscious these figures could be improved on.
However on short runs and around town the display shows around 32 mpg ( keeping to the 30 & 40 Speed limits)
I imagine that given the weight & size of the car with the 1700 petrol engine & if you were doing a reasonable amount of town driving the figure you mention is probably about right. Hopefully another 1700 petrol owner could give his figures.

PS my measurements were done using the on board computer and not the full tank to full tank method.

I wonder if that has much to do with it, I have been driving around with it set on "S"

I usually have mine set to "S"
Thought I read somewhere that in S setting the system tailored itself to your driving habits
