Quote BillF "Fuel prices peaked at 1.347 Cdn per liter this last weekend"
I am paying the equivalent of 2.45 can$ a litre at present.
Pipe some over please Bill.
1.347 is actually the price per litre of regular (87 octane) petrol (as per you Brits) For premium gas, it's higher than that. Yesterday, I saw stations in Vancouver posting 1.35.
Hi to everyone... i am reading this thread and i am ready to start crying(!)..
First i have NEVER seen any numbers under 8.8L/100Km on my B150 but with average speeds no more than 30-40Km/h so you can imagine our roads here.. (maybe i should have bought a 4X4 jeep)
And second our gas price here is 1.29 Euro/Liter (95 octane) and 1.45 Euro/Liter (100 octane) (today price: 1 Euro= 0,65 can$)
Of course one liter gas is more expensive than water or one can of Coca Cola...what will be the limit for this ride?
Talked to Fed Ex about shipping fuel over to Jolly Old England, but apparently the blister packs they use have a tendency to leak. You will have to visit here and bring fuel back as souvenirs.
I should of pointed out that the posted prices at all stations show 87 octane (it would be about 91 using European grading). Premium fuel is about 12 cents more. Our provincial government has passed a new tax that will put a carbon tax on fuel as well, so prices will rise higher. Like Martin posted
Next time I fuel up I will try to find the price of Diesel fuel for you to compare to, or if any one else knows.
First do not be tempted to use Coca Cola in your tank regardless how cheap. Sadly I think the ride has just started, oil hit a new high yesterday. Be happy you average 30 - 40 KPH, my long term average speed shows up at 32 KPH ( 10.5L/100K )since buying the car. We are told that our roads are in good shape by all levels of government, just not enough roads to go around.
My arse is a bit sore but the riding is good. 0.0 again today, nice 27 km ride into work in the sun.
You should be seeing more 0.0 mpg readings next week Mike, especially with weather predicted to be sunny, and in support of Ride to Work week next week. Plan on riding the 5 kms to work in my bike as well. (To achieve the same 0.0 L/100 kms.)
