Took my B class into main dealers for a couple of points to be looked at and he said some remedial checks needed to be done.
When I questioned the mechanic about what needed doing he said the car needed a "software upgrade" and it was aparantly to do with the auto gearbox
Any one any idea what this was for ? it seems a strange one to me. The only difference seems that the car may be using a bit more diesel than before ( but I cannot be sure on this)
The manufacturers often change their software - so an update done by the dealer should be ok. The reasons for these updates could be several....... But with a car like you have, you should also consider a "chip" flash update from a tuner. You would gain a lot regarding hp and torque - one to look at is www.obdtuning.no - they have dealers all over.... This kind of updates would also implement any changes that the manufacturer would have done - even better I would say.
