While we're going overboard on the rear seats, has anyone noticed that according to the B200 2006 instruction booklet you should be able to remove the rear seat bottoms with a simple built-in release mechanism. This is not fitted in my 2006, the seat bottoms are not meant to be easily removed.
This feature was fitted to both my 2005 & 2008 B class cars
Lift the seat base & look for the 'handle' shown in the middle of the picture (sorry about quality taken in the dark)and pull it up the seat base then releases and pulls off of it's locating slides.
Bad news for Canadians again. The rear seat is removed with 2 torx bolts per side. I would have thought they would have changed the car operations booklet by now. That's not the only error in the booklet. My booklet explained how to set the compass in the car. The only problem is that there is no compass in the 'non-command' cars. Even the dealer told me it was there. What a joke!!

You sure you don't have that lever Derek, that doesn't make sense to leave that facility out in fact it's given as one of the selling points of the car. Sounds silly but it is easy to miss it.
The compass exists for all 2007 Canadian Turbos (with or without command). I don't belive it was "available" in 2007 for non-turbos. Also, I'm unsure if this is still the case on '08s or not.
Odd, I think my B is fitted with removable seat bottoms standard. The vertical part (the back) can not be removed unless you have the EASY-VARIO option. In that case the whole backbench and front seat can be removed.
Offtopic:
And speaking of the manual. My manual (and yours) also says that the lighting of the car is redundant and that other lamps will take over from failing lamps. Trust me, this is not working. I've tried and I've got a letter from MB stating that the feature is not present. But still it's in the manual....
Yes it's supposed to be part of the standard features see below. As a matter of interest can one of you Canadian guys send a photo of your rear seat cusion base as I am intrigued to see what the've given you.
Trust me, there is no compass in my B of 2006( car received in Dec. 05 ) and the seats in Canada are all bolted in. The dealer offered to change my booklet to the corrected non-compass one. Come on Canadians! Show me that compass!
