It is obvious that the larger section of the rear seat was designed to have two of the rubber inserts since:
1) there are two associated fixings in the floor
2) the "empty" hole in the seat is clearly designed to accept one
Since there is only one fitted we can conclude either Mercedes:
1) decided to save some money
2) did not train their factory workers properly
3) had to ration the part due to a supply problem
I for one will insist on a second one free of charge. Why can we not get a comment directly from Mercedes on this web site?

What a joke. If the Mercedes technical experts cannot comment on whether there should be one or two pieces of rubber on the underside of the seat what chance do I have of them addressing the vibration problem on my car?
The bigger joke is that Mercedes can get us to pay lots of money for a car that Kia or Hyundai would be embarrassed to sell at half the money.
went to the MercedesBenz World last week, the showpiece building near the Brooklands race track, anyway, had a look under the rear seat and sure enough the rubber bush is missing, yesterday, Mercedes GB rang to see if i was happy with the car, I said yes, but i had a piece missing from under the seat, he said he would pass my comments to my local dealer, they rang yesterday evening, merc had been in touch with them, and said they had been asked to look into it, they rang back today, they think they know what part merc are on about. , they said they would try to get the part from germany and let me know..
how long will it take them to realize that the rubber thingy is not fitted in the first place....
