I recently purchased a 2008 S550 with sport package black with cashmere. I am debating whether or not to tint the windows lightly as I live in NY where there are strict tint laws or just let it go no tint. Car has the rear window shade which I like and was thinking about a light tint like that. Any thoughts pro or con or better yet can you post some pics of your s550 with tint
Even though tints are nice on certain cars, I have never been a fan of them. Your car comes with a light tint from factory. Unless your going for an aggressive look then I'd opt out of the tint. If you plan on making your Luxury ride have more of a sports stance then the outer color will compliment a good tint job. If anything, I like the like smoke tint on the S550. I would talk to the MB dealer and see what your options are. Once again if you like that clean look, then I wouldn't do the tints.

Go for it. Black tint on a black car looks great and will help your interior not fade and not overheat in the sun. You can only go 70% (NY) on the front and rear sides, then anything on the back. I'd go 70/70/20 in this case. If you are sure the cops don't carry tint guns and won't bother you where you are, then go 50/50/20. 70 is not much at all (VERY VERY light). 50 is still too light for me, but better than 70.
