Can you add Keyless Go to a 2007 S500 if it wasn't installed by the factory. This is one of the features that I would have liked but was not on the car when I purchased it.
If you have money to burn and never see again, then yes it can be done. Otherwise look for another car that has it. I assume you are in Europe as you state S500.
If you really, really want it, you could ask how much from one of those real retrofit experts. This is definitely something a dealer would not do and the cost in any case is multiple times more than the cost from the factory.
You need a lot of parts and a lot of labour, the car needs to be ripped off almost completely for the wiring etc.
I don't remember anyone having had this done other than those experts that do for their own cars just for fun and to show "it can be done".
I'm about to try and do it. My 2008 ML seems to have all the wiring in place, so I'm hoping just adding the modules. I've got the part numbers, and am going to try it. Send me a message and I'll keep you up to date - it's going to take 3-5 weeks. I'm doing it myself just for grins.
I'm also doing the Voice Command System at the same time - that's a bit easier.
My car has keyless go (verified by Vin # at dealer) but doesn't have the push button starter. Dealer says you can just buy the button for 45.00. Not sure how to install. Anyone know? Is it DIY?
Correct... If it was not installed in the car, the button wouldn't have worked... you can easily tell whether your car has it without checking the vin number... look at the door handles you will see a little rectangle, other than the infra red one... this means you have the keyless go package... buy the button, plug it, push it and smile... I am driving an E300, 2010, lane keeping, blind spot, attention assist, panoramic roof, brakes hold....etc... but no keyless go :crying:frown

It works! I took my friends keyless go button off of his 2010 S400 and put it into my 07, she has the little square indentations on the door handles. Fires right up like a champ. I have a button enroute that I bought off of eBay for 14.00.
