Hi I have a w221 and had MB install the iPod connection. It comes up as the AUX under the Audio sub-menu. However I cannot see any of the folders or song names on my display (and cannot scroll through a particular one). I can only see it in my speedometer (only single songs and not folders). Is that how it's supposed to be? I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks
To my knowledge and use experience, once you've selected a playlist, artist, album, all you will see in the display is that song list. Once it starts playing, it will show you that song and use of the up or down arrow scrolls you through whatever list you had previously selected. In that I don't use folders, can't comment on that.
i think it will only work thru your instrument cluster. i have it on my 211 and controls can only be use on the steering wheel. use the phone to select and up and down arrows to scroll. nav tv makes a kit that you can use the ipod thru the command but you will lose the cd changer.
I still have the same question? It only work as described by the person posted the thread!
Any feedback or suggestions ?
My suggestions would be to buy a 32 GB compact flash card and a PCMCIA adapter and forget the iPod and the iPod interface. This allows you to browse all the folders and it does it very quickly.

Diesel Benz : I have a 80GB iPod with most of my music library on it, I'd rather make use of it than having to install a flash card.
I agree with you that it would be much easier to use, but their has to be a way to fully make good use of the iPod integration kit.

Thanks for your suggestion. Gladly appreciated
Does "fully make good use of the iPod integration kit" mean to you that you would be able to use the Comand screen to select songs, play lists etc?
The more you have titles, the more it takes time to find titles with the IC menu. If this is not an issue, then I don't see the point with the Comand menu.

I would really love to have it controlled from the command screen, their might be a third party solution to enable this ! I'll keep searching, but for now I might have a specific playlist on my iPod to be used in the car. I'm not giving up just yet

True, third party solutions could give more options. I was considering MB OEM but forgot to mention that. Good luck for the search, and I assume you will report your findings.
